Third Party Inspection (TPI)

Third-party inspection is an essential component of the Australian standard (AS2550.3, Section 7.3.5) and involves an independent inspection carried out by a qualified inspector who is not associated with the manufacturer or supplier of the equipment.

The third-party inspection process is designed to ensure that the crane, hoist, or winch meets the relevant safety standards and regulations. It involves a comprehensive inspection of the equipment to verify that it is in good working condition and is safe to use.

During the inspection, the inspector checks the equipment's structural integrity, operational mechanisms, and safety features. They will also assess the condition of the wire ropes, chains, and slings used in the equipment, as well as the condition of any associated components such as hooks, shackles, and blocks.

Once the inspection is complete, the inspector will provide a report detailing any defects or issues identified during the inspection. If any defects or issues are found, the equipment will need to be repaired or replaced before it can be used again.

Overall, third-party inspection is a critical aspect of maintaining the safety of cranes, hoists, and winches, and is an important part of complying with the AS2550.3 standard.
